Arizona-based IT solutions provider to present a women-led educational session and treat attendees to a Phoenix Suns game from the Trapp Technology corporate suite
Trapp Technology, trapptechnology.com, a Phoenix-based provider of IT, voice, and cloud hosting solutions, has partnered with the Phoenix chapter of Girls in Tech, phoenix.girlsintech.org, to present an educational event on March 28, 2018. The event, which is focused on equipping women with tools and strategies to advance their career in the technology industry, will begin at the Trapp Technology offices in mid-town Phoenix, and continue at the Phoenix Suns game at Talking Stick Resort Arena in downtown Phoenix.
The educational event brings together women of all ages and professional tenure for a night of candid discussions surrounding the importance of seeking out mentorships, building career confidence, developing strategies to hold your own as the only woman at the table, and learning how to combat “bro culture.” Headlining the event is Paige Insalaco, CFO of Trapp Technology, and Beth Schaefer, HR Manager of Trapp Technology. The presentation is entitled, “How I Accidentally Landed a Career in Tech: Five Not-So-Secret Ways Professional Women Can Thrive in IT.”
“I’m a firm believer in amplifying strong, capable women in the workplace,” says Insalaco. “Together, we can build well-connected personal networks that help women break through the walls of the so-called boys club, and give our female colleagues the boost they need to have their outstanding talents and abilities not only be recognized, but rewarded.”
Following the presentation, attendees are invited to join Insalaco and Schaefer for the Phoenix Suns game at the Trapp Technology corporate suite. Food and drinks will be provided. Tickets for the presentation start at $10, with the option to attend both the presentation and Suns game for $15.
“We know from experience that breaking into the technology industry can be difficult for even the most highly qualified candidates,” says Schaefer. “The data is clear: women are more likely to feel less confident in their abilities. It’s our hope that with the tools obtained in this seminar, we can help women build a personal brand that exudes tenacity, proficiency, and poise even in the face of unconscious bias.”
This event marks the first partnership between the Phoenix chapter of Girls in Tech and Trapp Technology.
“This event is a great way to kick-off our collaboration with Trapp Technology, and we look forward to a long-term relationship,” said Rebecca Clyde, co-managing director, Girls in Tech Phoenix. “The two organizations share a focus on education and empowerment of girls and women who are passionate about technology.”
